Dr. Satarupa (Rupa) Das is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus in Maryland. Dr. Das has taught various courses of Economics including courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. Her teaching experience includes both traditional and online teaching at various institutions including India University, Bloomington, Western Carolina University, Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC) and Strayer University. Courses taught include introductory macroeconomics, microeconomics, intermediate microeconomics, international trade and managerial economics.

Dr. Das is a dedicated teacher. She is recipient of grants and awards, including a professional development grant from NVCC to create a web-based course to enhance the learning experience of her students. She has made many presentations at regional conferences including the New Horizons Conference of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).

Dr. Das obtained her Master's degree in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics in Delhi, India. She has a Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University,Bloomington, Indiana.
